alpha phi

by:

I, like many other girls, was dropped by my favorite houses. I've now been left with houses full of great girls who I'm fortunate to have been accepted by. The only issue is that I haven't found a home in this process, the group I had hoped for throughout this process doesn't seem to be here. I know that a lot of incredible girls also got screwed over by this process and chose to drop out of recruitment or maybe will choose to accept a bid from a house where they didn't feel very comfortable. At this point I am beginning to wonder about Alpha Phi. What if all of the incredible girls who didn't find their home all chose to rush Alpha Phi? I think we could make one hell of an incredible pledge class. Thoughts?

Alpha phi has no house
No meals together
You have no choice about who your sisters will be
How do you know you'll be comfortable?
I would find the good in the established houses and enjoy sisterhood
Maybe try to get a group to join an established house?
There really are some very nice girls everywhere

I think a lot of us felt heartache during rush. I'm still going to chose between the houses I have left over Alpha Phi.

If you want to go for alpha phi- do it! You can be one of the founding members, which is super cool!
That being said, you will miss out on a lot of the traditional Greek experiances like bigs, having a house, having sisters who already have connections & established events ETC.

It just depends on what you are looking for. just know the risks+ consequences of signing up for a new house. it's really exciting to have a new sorority on campus, but there will be growing pains.

As much as people talk about "finding their home" during the recruitment process, it really takes until long after bid day for new members to meet everyone and to feel truly at home and comfortable. Remember you are only talking to ~15 members out of 180. When I went through, I thought I didn't fit in or wouldn't have the sorority experience I had always dreamed of at the house I ended up at, but sticking with it and giving it a try was the best thing I have ever done. I honestly have never met anyone who regretted their decision to trust the process and give their house a real shot - no matter where they ended up.

No I wasn't, I was actually in a mid-tier. Nice try though.
