I plan on rushing but I noticed that now that It's getting close to rush a bunch of negative posts have been made about the best sororities (KD, Chio and adpi). Is it possible that lower tiers are trying to make themselves look better by being hateful toward the top one's?

I know a lot of frat guys who like to come on this site right before rush and post things to stir up trouble and watch sororities fight, so that's probably what's happening. It happened last year too

In the weeks prior to rush, frat guys, sorority girls, and others trying to stir up trouble will come on here and pretend to be freshman asking questions, with the intention of making other houses look bad. Dirty, but par for the course.

The best and only advice is to take everything you read on here with multiple grains of salt and to draw your own conclusions ONCE YOU ARRIVE IN CHAPEL HILL (NOT BEFORE).

To clarify, getting your heart set on any house or ruling out any house based on what you read here is a terrible idea. That goes for fraternities and sororities.

Tiers only matter in terms of who you mix with. For example, Big 4 won't mix with anyone below the top 4 sororities. But other than mixers tier don't make much of a difference.

Tiers mean nothing besides who mixes with who. I know guys in "top" frats that date girls in "bottom" sororities and visa versa even though their respective fraternities and sororities don't mix with one another.
