rec letters

So recommendation letters were mention on the sorority websites? Do I actually need those to rush? Will I actually get dropped by any chapters if I don't have a letter for them? Or are there chapters that won't give you bid unless you have one?

depends on the sorority. some don't take them into consideration really but others might slightly help you get through the first round or two.

having a rec doesn't get you a bid at all. it just kinda puts your face and name out there. recs don't really help that much in my opinion but they definitely don't hurt.

It doesn’t hurt to have them esp. if you don’t know anyone

I would get them just in case. Some chapters are way more likely to invite you back to round 2 if you have a rec letter. I don't think it helps much after that, but it's definitely better to be safe than sorry.
