top parties
by: tfmwriterHi, I'm writing an article about the biggest parties in the nation. I was curious what the top 3-4 parties are at UNC. (If you could include the semester the party is and which respective fraternity hosts the event.) Thanks!

-beta/dke has a combined darty/night party every spring called "spring party"
-LDOC (last day of classes) is the biggest party of the year and essentially every fraternity has a party on LDOC (spring)
-phi delt has "jock jams" in the fall where everyone wears jerseys and sportswear
-halloween. its kind of like ldoc but only at night, and things get crazy on franklin street as well

Kappa sig and Zete’s Halloween is definitely not the biggest when it comes to attendance

Spring party and LDOC are the only exceptional parties. Ski lodge, jock jams, and mariachi are all just slightly more fun than an average party.
(wouldn't "ski lodge" be more appropriate at dke, phi gam or phi delt?)

LDOC is (by far) the biggest, because all of the houses do something. Of course, some of these are great and some are lame/terrible. As individual parties go, the other posters seem to have named the top ones.

DKE, Beta, Phi Delt, SAE generally kill LDOC (in that order). Pre-probation Chi Phi would certainly be on that list too. Kappa Sig and Sigma Chi hold their own. Pika thinks they hold their own, but they don't. The others would probably be "lame/terrible."

Jock Jams really isn't that big of a party. Phi Delt's best party this year was definitely on Halloween and maybe during rush with Cherub which was awesome.
SAE's Ski Lodge party is great and really cool and, even though its their only party of the year and its not really that big, Phi Gam's Mariachi party is a ton of fun.
