If you wanted a COB...

by: wise

COB is done. Go through fall recruitment. Upperclassmen have their own quota pool considered separately from freshmen so you will not have to compete with them for spots. Remember that quota is not a 'have to take' number, it's a 'can't take more than' number, so no sororities 'have to' take anyone, but you will have a fair shot. It's more fun being in the larger fall member classes anyway at the start of the year. You can increase your chances for a bid by getting to know sorority members now. Class, dorm, parties, friends of friends, frat guys can put in a word for you with their sorority friends. Be nice to everyone, be open minded, be positive, keep your grades up, and have a great rush in the fall.

The upperclassmen quota was unfortunately abolished about three years ago, so while I would definitely encourage anyone interested in greek life to rush in the fall, if you aren’t a freshman you will be competing for a spot and it will be a bit cutthroat.
