snap bids? what?

it varies which houses participate (Depends on whether they meet quota through rush or not), some houses seem to do it every year. You could certainly reach out to the houses directly (yes possibly a little weird) or the panhel recruitment person (Molly?)

Someone is confusing snap with COB. A chapter that doesn't match to quota can snap bid up to quota before bid day. Snaps only go to pnm's that were in recruitment. You can't ask for one, there is no contact with pnm's outside of recruitment rounds, or ex pnm's either. Every chapter will already have their snap list ready anyway should the need arise.
Continuous Open Bidding happens after bid day and that is when you can reach out. You don't have to have gone through recruitment to get a COB.
If a chapter dropped you early, they aren't giving you any bid.

KD has given snaps the last 3 years maybe more. DDD did too. Not sure about Chi O but this year is different anyways for them so who knows about any of it. ADPi, Zeta and APhi have not needed to snap. Snaps are quick and based on the house ranking, matches and quota, most actives have no clue how many if any. Advisor Chapter President and Rush Chair will keep this hush hush. Panhel will know of course. These girls will be at Bid Day.
COBs are different. For a COB you can express interest to Panhel Rush Chair Chapter President or an active friend and COB is based on campus total. Some nationals will not participate in COBs while others want campus total + and will COB even with a full quota. COBs will take longer you join after the dust settles. Some girls that accept Bids will drop. COB takes time will likely start a week after recruitment and some will have more spots in spring. Many times COBs will be offered if available to girls that were boxed out or those who did not participate in recruitment at all.

KD gives out snap bids every year, this is well known because girls have big mouths and news like that travels fast. When you know someone who drops out of rush and the suddenly gets a bid on bid day, you don’t have to be a genius to figure out she got a snap bid.
