AXO sisterhood

My friend in axo said they have to wear name tags at meals because they don’t know each other. Is this typical of Greek life? I’m interested in rushing to make friends but that info makes me think I won’t actually find sisterhood.

not typical at all but they also have been known to exclude their new members

We wear nametags in the beginning at meals mainly for new members to learn older members' names as fast as possible. It can be overwhelming to meet 200+ new people at once, and the nametags are just to make everyone as comfortable as possible throughout this period. We make such a strong effort to know everyone BECAUSE our sisterhood is so strong. Don't turn a simple nice gesture into something it's not...
