Heyyyyyy transferring from UVA give me the rundown

Ladies! I'm a second year transferring to UNC from UVA. I'm originally from gastonia and that in state tuition called me back. I loved uva greek life and am worried about fitting in at unc.i def want to rush and am not sure what srat would be best for me. Any advice? I want to be in a classy srat that focuses on philanthropy. Partying is important too but mostly I want solid sisterhood. Happy 2021

Your best bet is to just rush and see where you fit in and what you like.

If you loved uva Greek life why didn’t you rush there? Will you be going through recruitment as a junior? That will be tough if you don’t have connections.

Bc it was expensive and I knew I was going to transfer before graduation. Seemed dishonest. But I loved hanging out with greek life. Yes I will be a junior . I don't know too many people at unc but I am ready to meet new people!

Newsflash, it’s going to be just as expensive and you’re simply not getting a bid as a junior, especially without connections. It’s tough but it is what it is.

Also it would be cheaper since I only have 2 years even if I have to pay more, no? Since my first two years don't count. Basically I could pay 2x as much and I'd still be ahead. # winning

You ain't at UVa anymore hun. Just be ready, we don't care about your VA connections down here. NC is a wholllllle different ballgame (and way better)

If sisterhood is your main focus look at kappa, phi Mu, or pi phi. Most of the srats here focus on philanthropy and are classy. It might be better for you to do spring rush at uva and then transfer to unc’s chapter than it will be to rush as a junior here with no connections.

From my experience, a lot of girls here drop their sororities by junior year since they’re getting to the age where they can drink at bars. Just doesn’t seem worth it by then
