I’m sorry this post is just disgusting. 1. Recruitment should never be based on appearance one way or another and 2. Why point that out when tri deltas from this pc may be reading/ if someone was struggling with self image. I’m not a tri-delt, but it shouldn’t take one of them to defend these girls. Do better.

100% agree with everything @truth said. if tri delt doesn’t know you, they drop you (i’m a junior and went thru recruitment freshman year). all they care about is surface level crap, and since I was an OOS student that went to a high school they had never heard of, they dropped me. little did they know i probably have more money than half of their members (not that that matters, i wouldn’t have wanted to be recruited on that basis). on the flip side, i hated everything abt them and they’re so obviously superficial. anyone with eyes should be able to see that. sorry not sorry.

They absolutely do overlook looks in favor of perceived financial status, looking at their members is proof. They also talk a lot about how much money PNMs have during recruitment, which is disgusting. Is it better to be in the sorority with hot upper class girls or chubby rich ones?

I guess I should be offended that Tri Delt dropped me then because I’m fairly attractive and my parents own vacation homes in Vermont and the Bahamas. And my grandparents live in Italy part of the year. Maybe I should’ve showcased those on my social media or bragged about this during recruitment so I could’ve gotten a bid but Tri delt’s the one missing out, not me. I love my middle tier home and am happy to be with real friends who love me for me.

Recruitment should not be based on appearance but unfortunately that is not the reality. Every sorority wants attractive members. TriDelt also seems to want girls with family money that went to affluent private/boarding school and that’s just as superficial as judging girls based on looks. Do these girls honestly think TriDelt would like them if they’d gone to public school in a small town?
