sae and chi phi

Chi phi has a much better reputation/is better, but both are good fraternities. Both are hard to get bids to.

That's just not true. Chi phis new class is one of the freshmen girls favorites. And if you wanna talk about giving out tons of bids, look at phi delt. Gave out over 50 bids.

Chi Phi and SAE are pretty much on the same level in most regards, except for grades, in which SAE has them beat (but who really cares about grades). Outside of the big four, these two are probably the best fraternities. As far as how hard it is to get a bid, it's completely on a case by case basis. It really depends if you're a cool guy or not, but I think Chi Phi pledge classes are bigger so maybe it's a little easier to get one there.

Probably harder to get a bid at Chi Phi. They gave a lot of bids this year but that's because their rush went so well and had quality guys to give bids too. Chi Phi and SAE do not cross rush as much though, even though they are socially similar. SAE is like the top tier of BFC and people that are cool who rush there go SAE. Chi Phi cross rushes much more with Big 4, particularly Beta, and anyone will agree with that the cross-rushing is true. SAE and Chi Phi also don't really hang out much. SAE keeps to themselves more while Chi Phi is very social with other fraternities.

Obviously one of you guys is in SAE and one is in chi phi. From an outsiders perspective, chi phi is the better fraternity. Their parties are bigger and more fun and the guys are cooler. If I was a girl more into clean cut guys, then sure I might like SAE more.

If we were to rank them it would be like this:

DKE
Beta
Phi Delt
Chi Phi/Phi Gam (phi gam only this high because of tradition)
SAE

But honestly it doesn't really matter once you get to this point. All these fraternities are top tier and have good parties and mix with good sororities.

Both are top tier houses, Chi Phi edgier and SAE more clean cut, but both are strong socially and well liked by good sororities. I doubt either will have spring rush, so you're waiting until next fall. Try to meet brothers in both houses between now and then.

SAE and Chi Phi are apples and oranges.
