Questions from an incoming freshman..

Is not living in Granville really going to affect my chances of getting a bid?? One of my friends keeps saying this and it’s freaking me out lol.
How important are rec letters??
And is it really true that they gives bids based on connections/school you went to, and if so does AXO do this?
#2by: Don’t worry
#3by: doesn’t matter

TBH where you went to high school is what matters most. Unless you’re from a top school in Raleigh or Charlotte or came from an elite boarding school it’s going to be harder for you.
Regardless of what other people tell you, Granville does matter. The The girls living on south campus that get bids to a top tier are the exception not the norm

anyone who says living in granville doesn’t matter doesn’t understand the importance of the social life there. especially during the first week, you can get bands and talk to girls in other sororities at the parties which can help. also, throughout the entire year you are way closer to your sorority house and don’t have to hike back to your dorm after parties.

idk why people are hating on south campus. there are a ton of top tier guys and girls who live there. i literally lived right beside guys in phi delt and chi psi. definitely not as many greeks as granville but still a lot. make friends with people in granville but if you’re social south campus is definitely the move. in granville you can’t escape the pettiness of greek life. south campus is a nice escape and if you actually wanna make friends with people outside of greek life, live there. i lived there and am in a top tier. i don’t regret it at all and the people who say you shouldn’t live there are just stupid tbh. there’s more than college than greek life.
