for girls rushing in the fall

Here are some generalizations ab the different sororities. Since they’re generalizations, this of course doesnt apply to every girl in each chapter.
TOP
DDD: the best, have a lot of really pretty girls. very fashionable, most fun chapter of the top tier. can be intimidating, some people think they’re mean.

KD: second best, very smart girls that are put together. classy, but often thought of as having sticks up their butts/being snooty. Phi Delts love them.

UPPER MID:
XO: used to be top but honestly isn’t anymore. this year’s PC was good but previous ones were sub par. less likely than DDD/KD to get asked to Big 4 functions. they keep to themselves more & are often viewed as being snobby without good reason to be. biggest plus is the whole PC lives in the house the year after joining.

ADPi: high quality house. They have beautiful & kind girls. They’re lots of fun, are very social, and guys love them. Even if they aren’t the “top”, girls consistently choose them over top houses every year. They seem to have a very strong and tight knit sisterhood, and are way nicer on average than the above three houses.

MID
AXO/ZTA: tied in terms of rankings, but couldn’t be more different. ZTA def recruits based on looks, but the result is that most of their girls look like/are wannabe influencers. Their physical house is pretty unattractive, and they have (or had) the lowest retention rate on campus. AXO doesnt seem to recruit on anything other than being chill and academically focused. They have some cool girls, and a lot of non-sorority types. They’re right in the middle because people don’t feel too strongly about them either way.

APhi: New, but a few girls actually preffed APhi over top houses this year. Since their house will finally be done and is new, they will probably be upper mid/low top in 1-3 years. They have pretty girls that are laid back, less academic, and a little less classy (they’re known to be party animals on this site for a reason).

Phi Mu: more of a “southern” sorority vibe. They definitely take preppier girls than other houses. These girls are super nice, but their chapter identity isn’t really clear beyond that.

BOTTOM (doesn’t mean they aren’t great)
Pi Phi: exceptionally nice girls. They’re less social, but have a really strong sisterhood and a strong history on campus. Back in the day, Pi Phi was a top house at UNC. While that is no longer the case, they are still a strong house with a clear identity on campus, and they recruit selectively.

KKG: not social, but an incredibly sweet and smart house. girls that go Kappa are definitely looking for the community and sisterhood aspect of a sorority more than the social one, but it works well for them. Their house itself is gorgeous too.

SSS: Honestly don’t know what’s going on with this group. Things seem to be getting better for them since nationals stepped in this year. Hope that continues.
