what does everyone mean when they say phi mu tries too hard?

I haven't heard that phi mu tries to hard. I've just heard they're not very exclusive

By saying they try too hard, people are referring to how Phi Mu is focused solely on climbing up the social ladder of Greek life. They will tell you they are the best house on campus when clearly they are not.

Phi Mus are adorable and love their sorority if that makes them try-hards then I don't think that's wrong
