bid day advice
by: PanhelIf you open up that card today and it isn’t the house you had your heart set on, I STRONGLY encourage you to give the house a chance! As someone who was dropped by my first choice on bid day I know the feeling, but I stuck with the house that actually wanted me and I can’t imagine myself anywhere else! These girls want you and every sorority at UNC is amazing and has something to offer! So don’t drop, have an open mind, and give the house a chance. You’ll be so thankful you did!

For real, I don’t think PNMs realize that if you get a bid from a house they REALLY wanted YOU! They’re excited to see YOU run to their house, and excited to welcome YOU into their sisterhood. I know it’s heartbreaking to not get your first choice, but at least give the house that gave you a bid a shot.
If anything, girls will be nastier to you in the long run if they find out you got a bid somewhere and immediately turned your nose up at it because of “tiers”. I’d much rather be buddies with a girl from ANY house than someone who thought they were too good for another sorority. If you give them a shot and feel like you don’t fit in, that’s fair. But don’t turn your nose up at them before you get to know them. Rush can be so superficial and it really doesn’t show off the personality of a sorority!
