letters of rec (sororities)

How common are LOR at UNC and if they are common, how many per house does a typical PNM have?

only helps a little bit, if at all depending on the house. Won't get you through rounds if you don't make a good impression.

They make a significant difference, having connections matters.

At least for my house, having connections with girls actually in the chapter carries a LOT more weight than a random rec letter from someone we don't know.

I got 1-2 LORs for almost every sorority when I went through recruitment and they didn't help me. If you have an immediate family member or close friend in one then that'd be good, but I wouldn't go out of my way to get two for each sorority or anything like what's common for SEC schools.
