legacy?

I'm an adpi legacy and was wondering if that would help me during recruitment or if they don't really care about legacies

IMO, being a legacy only helps if you have a "sitting sister" in the house at the school you're going to. Having a mom that was in a sorority at UNC (or any other school) won't help you at all. Technically, most houses have to keep you through the second round (as a courtesy) but unless you have people pulling for you, you can get dropped after that. This is the reason to go into rush with an open mind.

I agree with ^ and actually think it might be a negative thing in some houses. They have to report to their nationals that a certain number of sisters talked to you before you can be released. So you get teamed up on, and can't have a really good conversation when three or four people are talking to you for a few seconds. That's how my house works, anyway. I would seriously consider not listing yourself as a legacy at all. On the flip side, I joined a house (not my Mom's house) and it has been my best decision ever. Good luck!

Do let your legacy house know that you will be coming through. They would appreciate it and you will stand out to them in recruitment, which is never a bad thing. If they don't think you are a good fit they will release you at some point before the pref round. ADPi has a special legacy introduction form for you to send in. Check the national site.
