sorority spring rush

by:

What sororities took new members this spring? And how many members did each get? I heard a lot of sororities were under campus total.

Literally the way that house total works is that about 5-6 of the houses are under. The only way to find this out is to ask people in the sororities themselves

....and they might be under "total" because of girls going abroad or graduating in December. It doesn't reflect badly on any house if they have a few open spots in the spring. The numbers ebb and flow all the time.

Phi mu and AXO were very under total. They offered bids to soooo many girls this spring

Where did you even hear this? I'm in neither sorority but I haven't heard this and I doubt it's true. I saw AXO's bid day and all the girls looked happy to be there and they looked like they were well over quota. Maybe I'm just out of the loop but I haven't heard that any sorority had a ton of drops or girls who didn't accept their bids. So unless they had a ton of seniors graduate in the fall, I doubt this happened.

I did spring rush this year (which is a lot different than fall rush) and like the first person said, it depends on the house totals. The only sororities with sign up sheets at the interest meeting were KKG, AXO, and Tri sig (not positive on the last one). I'm hoping to get AXO, but the person trolling about Phi Mu and AXO bids was super mistaken- they are only taking 3 girls (and there's about 45 trying for the spots)

KKG and SSS usually do Spring rush. Not shame in that, just a fact. I'm surprised about AXO though. They always imply that they are such a strong mid tier house. Maybe they're going downhill?

No, like above said, members graduate in December, go abroad or take an internship, and so a house will happen to be a few members under the maximum allowed house total (it's not a quota.) It's just a bubble effect and it happens at every single house from time to time. A chapter may elect to offer some spring bids or not. If they already know some girls that they would really like to have then it is in their best interest to snap them up for membership while they can. The house can also use the opportunity to get to know other girls who are interested in their house who would possibly be going through the next formal recruitment, like a pre-rush, because it give the house an advantage then. It's actually a real smart move for chapters to do this when they can.

This is awesome. The best explanation I've seen for how numbers change within individual houses.
