by: CuriousI was wondering why Alpha Phi is using the Horace Williams house for recruitment? It's all the way down at the end of Rosemary St. Imagine if you had to get from there to KKG? Or even KD, Alpha Chi, Phi Mu or Zeta? Why aren't they using the Carolina Inn again? It's only going to hurt them, I'm afraid. And I don't have a dog in this fight...I just graduated.

Who cares? Why are you on this site if you've graduated? Why don't you worry about yourself like the rest of us are doing? I personally don't know why and don't care where they're holding recruitment, because it literally does not matter. Something tells me you definitely haven't graduated.

Like I said, I don't know. I haven't bothered to ask any girls in alpha phi because again, it's none of my business and doesn't affect my chapter. Also, maybe don't claim you don't have a dog in this fight if you're an alumni advisor for your house. You obviously care enough to come on this site and ask. Maybe you're just genuinely curious, but your original post came off pretty rude. You could always ask someone you know in alpha phi if you really want to know.

For someone who claims not to be an Alpha Phi, you named that sorority four times in your post and again in you follow- up post. Plus, you seem to make monitoring this site a full time job. Just be honest.

Honestly I'm not worried. I heard from some of my sisters that Panhel is taking the walking time in to consideration when constructing schedules this year.
We'll all make it work. We're Greek girls- staying positive in a situation where things may not be going perfectly is an important quality to have.
Honestly it will make it easier to sift through PNMS. If they complain the whole time about how hard it is to run from house to house, then you'll know she's not a positive person.

The walk from KKG to A Phi will be at least 30 minutes and if it's 90+ degrees, it would be hard for anyone to stay positive. I'm going through rush again as a Sophomore and it was bad enough last year. My makeup was sliding off my face and my blisters had blisters. Allowing us more time to get from house to house isn't going to help anything. I agree that it's going to hurt KKG and APhi.

I just hope that Panhel takes it into consideration when organizing rounds 1-3 schedules by not having any girls with KKG and APhi back to back. Pref round would be unavoidable for the girls who pref APhi and KKG.

Unless you have a disability that prevents you from walking/jogging, you'd come off as a crazy high maintenance.
Personally, if I saw that (and you're not disabled) I'd make it a point to get you cut.

Our Gamma Chis told us to Uber from some houses to KKG last year.... No one cares if you do that. Just don't make a big deal about it. Sisters are in the houses when you're living up outside the house anyway.

The person above is a troll and a liar trying to make KKG appear really far away, and they want to get you in trouble. It's against the rules and KKG isn't that far from the other houses. 10 minute walk max (except from where APhi is holding their rush). My aunt was at UNC when DZ was still around (current PBX house) and she said she was able to make it from DZ to KKG in under 15 minutes.
Do not uber, just don't walk like your 80 years old, and you'll be fine.

Not true. My roommate and I tested it out. Once we finally found the house that Alphi Phi is using it took us 28 minutes to walk at a fast pace to KKG and we even cut through campus to get there. By the time we were there, we were dripping with sweat. If I get those two houses back to back I'm just not going to go to the one I like the least. Not worth it. Plus, neither is very good anyway.

Good for you for testing the walk. However, did you know that if you skip a house, you get released from recruitment? Is it worth not joining a sorority at all?

Because you need to trust the process. It's impossible to truly judge a house after only 1 or 2 rounds. If you skip a house, you get released from recruitment entirely.
Also, don't be rude to try and get cut because we talk. If we find out you were rude to 1 house, we'll probably cut you as well.

They're probably trying to make PNMs forget that they don't actually have a house, but in all honesty it's just drawing more attention to it...

If you aren't an A Phi, why are you so condescending and rude? Why should you care? I'm the OP and am getting my masters in accounting so I'm in CH for another year. Also an alumni advisor for my house. I am Greek, so I (and anyone else) has a right to make an observation. It was in no way an attack, just a question of why that house so far away was chosen for a sorority that CLEARLY doesn't need any more challenges. Sounds like you're the one with the issues.
