does rushing a second time as a sophomore hurt you

by:

I did rush as a freshman, but only because I was friends with a lot of people who were doing it. I didn't know the greek alphabet, tiers, or reputations about any houses .During rush, I saw girls crying from getting cut, and I felt really bad and felt like the whole thing was cliquish and unfair. The conversations at the houses didn't really give me a chance to know the girls. I ended up dropping out, and a year later I think I might want to try again. All the peopleI know in them really like them so I feel like I'm missing out. Now, I know about recommendation letters and stuff, so I'm going to get some. I just want to know if this will hurt me, or if girls who rush again are looked down upon? I actually took last semester off for medical leave, so idk if I'm even a sophomore? UNC still considers me a second-semester first-year. Does being sophomore help you more because of quotas?

There are quotas for upperclassmen, but I think your best chance is if you now know girls in some houses. It can give you a more realistic perspective on it all. But do go through with an open mind, whether you know girls already or not. You may as well give it a shot, because the worst that happens is you figure out later it's not for you and you can always drop later.

The only thing that would be a possible issue is if you got a Bid from a house and then dropped. If that was the case that house probably would drop you first round but other than that you should be good. People in the houses understand how rough the process is and are usually happy to see people giving things a second chance.

Nope, I never signed a bid card! I dropped out before Bid Day. Thanks!
