help with adpi?

Hey everyone. So I rushed as a freshman this year. I didn't really know anything about the sororities here, I just did it because a couple close friends were and I read that even girls who weren't sure about it should try it, because a lot end up finding a house they love. The one sorority I heard about before I came here was ADPi, but I didn't know anything about tiers here when I rushed. ADPi was the first house my rush group visited, and I loved them! However, they cut me after the first round, which I really don't understand. I thought we had great conversations. Anyway, I continued to go through rush and fell in love with Tridelt. I didn't know anyone in it, but I loved it. All the girls I talked to seemed super genuine and smart. However, I got cut after House Tours and was kinda bummed (but I wasn't upset enough to cry like most of the other girls in my rush group. I ended up preffing Pi Phi and KKG, but I didn't even want to go on, because I knew those houses weren't right for me. I was forced to by my Gamma Chis to continue, because they said I couldn't have my phone back unless I finished Pref night. So I did, and was almost forced to sign a bid card by my Gamma Chi. However, when I got to the table to sign it, I knew neither of those sororities were right for me, so I dropped out. I felt like I made the right decision.
However, now I really feel like I want to join a sorority. I really like ADPi, and have one close friend in there (continued below)

Continued: I have one close freshman friend in ADPi, and I really want to rush again in the fall. But I don't know if having just one friend there is enough? I want to get a recommendation letter, but I literally don't know anyone who was in any sorority. Any advice for me? I have a really unique major, and I don't want to sound conceited, but I'm not unattractive and have a good personality. Any advice?

Like Whoa said above, you just gave SO many details it's really easy for someone to figure out who you are. If they already cut you once, why do you feel like that's the place for you? Recruitment seems harsh and it is but it often works out the way that it should.

I know it seems like we're being harsh and not giving you the answers you were looking for. You have to understand that UNC sororities are fiercely supportive and protective of each other. When I say we have friends in every house, it's true. "Tiers" are irrelevant to us. So it offends us when you call yourself "ADPi PNM" based on one round of rush last year and one friend in the house. (And I'm pretty sure they're laughing at your presumptiveness). Go through rush and be humble. Give EVERY house a chance.

Seriously. After one round, you've met maybe 5 actives at best. And you can determine that ADPi is the house for you? And they're better than any other house at UNC? That's BS. You're basing your opinion on gossip and let me tell you this - my friends that are unhappy in their houses are the ones that relied on tiers to guide them. They passed up great houses where they felt a connection for houses that they had absolutely nothing in common with.

They are great houses, but I felt like they weren't the right ones for me. And if tridelt carried me longer than APDi, I think it must've been a mistake or something
