any national fraternity or sorority cannot legally have alcohol in an official house, which is a house owned/paid for by the organization. It might be a set back, but they're just following the rules so they don't get their house taken away by nationals. If other national organizations do it then they're just taking the risk. Doesn't make an organization any worse or better just because they can throw parties in their house.

If you're joining a sorority to drink, then locals might be for you. For many other reasons, go national. Better programming, better sisterhoods, better leadership opportunities, better philanthropy and community service opportunities and better support from someone outside of the university and not named Gretchen.

National Panhellenic sororities are always better than locals for so many reasons. Why even waste your time with a local? Panhellenic sororities have sisters all over the world. It's so fun to run into other sisters on vacation and during travels. Not sure why this university still has locals. Other universities have switched over to Panhellenic sororities. This university is so behind when it comes to Greek life.

The local sororities up there are just as good as a national sorority. From seeing it first hand I can tell you the sisterhood is a lot stronger than many of the Nationals. In a lot of the Nationals the girls don't even like each other and they clique up. When they meet alum they know that those women went through exactly what they did to earn those letters and it's so exciting to bond with the women who come back and visit. Besides, Bloomsburg doesn't really judge you on whether you're national or local, we're all just there to have a good time and make memories

Your statement "those women went through exactly what they did to earn those letters" is the reason the local sororities will never be of the level of the national organizations. Bloomsburg's Greek Life continues to be brought down by the levels of hazing that still exist on this campus.
