truth about sororitys/frats

For you incoming freshies checking Greek Rank and searching google for answers on how the Greek life works at UIUC, I was there one day and I am here to give you a breakdown of how these "rankings" you are seeing actually work.

Sororities: Generally, the "rankings" of sororities hold true and you will sadly be judged by which sorority you are in because unlike frat rushing, in sorority rushing you see every house and most likely end up with the best you could get based on your convos with the girls and looks, possibly who you know. If you are in theta, tridelt, dg you are probably attractive, cool and outgoing; SK, AEPhi are the bottom of the totem poll so people may think the opposite even if its not true. The rankings are all over this site but generally they are consistent and true, the higher the house the more attractive the girls are and the more social events.

Fraternities: Not at all like sororities. What inspired me to write this is how pointless the rankings are for frats. Yes, pike/sae/ato are the "cool houses" but outside of that, it is just "rankings" passed down over the years that no longer make sense. You look at a group of guys from one house that are better looking and more social with girls yet they are ranked 10 spots behind the dweeb looking kids walking around. DO NOT pay attention to rankings for frats, opposite of sororitys.
