to all pnms

To all the PNMs out there who are stressing about rush there are a few truths you need to know. These may be hard truths, but they are truths nonetheless.
1. Rush Sucks. Being in a Sorority is awesome - Rush is uber stressful with girls sprinting to houses and crying after being cut, but just know in the end, that rush you get on bid day opening your card, is sooooo worth it
2. You will be cut from that house you loved - and you thought they loved you too. It's ok, shake it off, because there are other houses that did want you back so focus on that.
3. If someone doesn't like you in the house, you wont get in - if you're associated with someone one girl doesn't like, you won't get in. Sorry, but it's true
4. GPA matters - but your personality is just as important so focus on being yourself
5. Rush isn't for everyone - Last year 1200 girls rushed and 800 girls got bids. It's okay to drop, there are so many other things to do on campus!
you know you love me

also, if you don't end up getting into a house in the fall, there is always spring rush!! get to know girls in your dorm, classes, etc. and become genuine friends with girls you like. you never know if their house may do spring rush (15/19 houses did this spring). even if not, stay positive and don't worry about trying again! :)

Just stick with it period. If you get a bid go and enjoy your new house, you will grow to live it. If you are the bid and then drop its likely you will not get picked up by another house in the spring anyway,
It's also likely that if you get cut by a house you love once it will happen again your sophomore year too. So go with the process. It's craopy to accept a bid and then drop it as you kept it from another girl who wanted that house.

i guess it depends on a variety of factors. what houses you get back / how much you personally like the houses, etc. just be yourself and try your best to have fun with the process! worst case, you don't get a bid. i know tons of great girls who didn't from fall rush as a freshman!! but you always end up where you're supposed to be, whether that be via rush second semester or as a sophomore
