gpa requirement??

by:

Does anyone know what sororities automatically cut you for GPA? Or do they not cut? I'm kinda worried because mine is above a 3.0 but below panhel average. Have any sophomores in the past rushed with a GPA that was below panhel average and did you get into any houses? Thank you so much in advance!

You will not be cut by all since most just cut below a 3.0 but you will be cut by three or four

some houses i know cut sophomores that aren't at panhel average which doesn't seem fair at all to me because a 3.4 is relatively high especially depending on your major. not sure how many houses though!

Yeah exactly. I'm a mcb major and i'm sure there are other STEM majors out there who are below panhel average because of their major. So I don't know how that would be fair. I don't wanna rush if i'm going to be cut from most houses just because of my GPA.

Say you have a 3.36 overall GPA, would they consider that a 3.4 and should you put 3.4 on the rush application? Or are you not supposed to round like that?

Eh they can't check until you're in the house

Would you get in trouble once they found out?

No? It's not like they find out and look at grades right away. And if they do bring it up just say that you rounded and didn't know it was a problem

High school GPA is not the same as college so your high school gpa being above a 3.0 is not the same as college being above 3.0 so you cannot compare to panhels average. That being said, dont worry too much about grades just be yourself during rush!
