No, dude they were never a good chapter here. And to imply KDR and AKL are solid middle tiers is stupid too. These houses are literally bottom of the barrel. There are no fraternities on campus with weirder kids than them. These are honestly, objectively, the houses on campus which give Greek Life at U of I a bad name. I'll admit that pi lambda phi (despite their weird ass letters combination) might be different because they're so new, right now each of these chapters suck.

My dad say dchi was among the best but apart from dchi these were his options. I think he chose Pilam because they were right next door. So he just saw a lot of them I suppose.

Ok, that makes sense. Hope I did not sound harsh. Pi Lams did have some very cool guys, I just meant they were not the most prominent house.

My Dad preffed AKL with SAE as a second choice, PKT (no longer here) and DU as a fourth choice so yes, AKL was at least middle/upper middle back in the day.

@Hmmm. Sorry, but KDR was not good at all in the 80's. They were sort of like the Dungeons & Dragons type of kid, and they had a small membership.

True, AKL Phi Tau and SAE were all very solid houses back in the day. I think they had similar types of guys....generally personable and athletic, but more laid back and low key than the other houses I mentioned. DU had a good number of guys and threw some good parties.

it does seem pilams are trying to prove they used to be a good chapter here but that's not true. They were a solid middle tier in the lines of akl and kdr but never top tier. But that house though.... Pity it doesn't stand anymore
