Is is hard to get in a sorority as an out of stater or is everyone from Illinois in most houses. Just curious since i'm coming in the fall and want to rush.

rushing at u of i is very competitive because it is known for being the school with one of the biggest (if not the biggest) greek lives , which makes a lot of people want to rush. I know a lot of girls that ended up dropping because they didn't end up with the right house, but it had nothing to do with being from out of state. So overall: yes it is relatively hard to get into a sorority but if you be yourself you will end up in the right house

get in one although you may not get the one you want. I think schools in the south are much more competitive. Some girls down there do not make the cut at all at u of I you will end up some place. As to the comment 2 below, I have seen not so attractive girls in every house including the top 3 and I have seen some real beauties in the middle houses so like she say's be yourself.

You can see that the vast majority of women who do not complete recruitment are women who drop out. Very few women are released by all chapters. If you have an open mind, and do your best to see the good in EVERY chapter, you will end up somewhere.

serious question without sounding like a fool? Why would all of the chapters drop someone? I heard that there was a place for everyone. soon to be 16

It's better to be dropped and find your true home in another house than to get a bid from a house that doesn't "want" you or where you won't fit in. Don't take it personally, the person literally talks to you for five min most the rounds. And YOU get to cut houses you don't want as well (but sometimes you'll get asked back to them)

who looks like a model and is one of the prettiest people I have ever seen and she got dropped from most houses. Why do you think stuff like that happens? Jelousy?

Is it helpful to have recommendations, or do they not matter. I also don't understand how someone could be dropped from all houses either, especially from an early round....that would be really awful. Everyone has some good qualities.
