Yeah good point Agreed, the sororities as UIUC as well as the fraternities can be divided into more or less groupings.
More Often you have your top three though, Theta, tridelt and dg followed closely by AXO and Gamma Phi, the second tier occupied by KD, Kappa, ChiO, and Alpha Phi, and other nice sororities Pi Phi AGD AOpi and ADpi and AzD I'm in a fraternity I like all these sororities and the other ones I don't know much about cuz we don't have exchanges with them. I like DZ though, I have some good friends in there. But in any sorority mentioned by me or Agreed, you will meet guys I promise, if you're looking at sororites therefore pick the girls you like

Changing the subject here. I am a sorority member from the 1980's. Now my daughter is looking at Big Ten schools. But she wants to do Marching Band! Are there sorority girls that do marching band. (There were not in my day) She really wants to go Greek! Is she doomed to be cut or lower tier at best?

I'm jumping in from another Big 10 school, but I know girls who were in the band or in any other variety of sports who were Greek at my school. I personally played on the Rugby team and had a full rush schedule and a bid to my favorite house (though we werent as competitive a rush as U of I). Depending on the school and assuming she has the grades, there's a good chance she can be Greek regardless of her other activities.
On another note, shame on you for even worrying about what "tier" she'd end up. As a mother, and especially as a Greek woman yourself, it's your job to make support her in whatever chapter she feels most at home in, whether it's socially at the "top" or "bottom" or whatever ranking, which is pretty shallow at best.
