will sororities judge based on major?

I want to join a sorority this spring or next year, but im doing a hard major (engineering) and I hesrd that some sororities don't consider people who are doing majors that involve a lot of time and stuff....based on that... Is this true?

I honestly do not know where you got that info from but that is totally not true. Sure your major is hard and but if you manage your time and work efficiently, you can join any sorority you want. Although I do believe that sorority is going to take a hit on your free time (if you have free time). When creating classes for the spring, you should probably think that sorority stuff is like an extra 3-4 credit hours. So take that into account. But I believe in you :)

Thank you so much for the advice. One of the girls told me that and I'm worried that she may have just said it to discourage me at this point.

Sororities care about padding that average GPA so they're more inclined to take in education and other joke majors.

since you already been at u of i for a semester, you can prove that you can have a high gpa and still be able to join a house.
