maybe it wont be that apparent this year, but eventually it will make a big difference. for example, what sorority want to block with a house with no social? i know theta tried to scramble and switch but it was too late. they cant have exchanges, which is a huge part of social life, especially when every other frat is having them with sororities. no pledgeship will mean other frats will start looking down on them and their pledge classes will start to be cliquy. not worth the risk to rush there at all, there are plenty of great houses

A semester without social is nothing. Every great house runs into trouble. Theta can't technically have block either so it works out for them. The house is filled with cool guys and this won't have much effect on them. Their new pledgeship program allows for pledge ship to still remain under a different name.

Probably won't hurt too much. It may sway some rushes who are on the fence with them and someone else against their favor but that's about it. Other houses might use this as a reason to tell rushes not to join SAE, but that's a little pathetic and would make their house seem desperate.
