Sorority Recruitment Counselors

I'm hearing from our new pledges that many, many sorority rush counselors spent recruitment sharing opinions on sororities. Since when do recruitment counselors try to push PNMs to one house or the other? What happened to just being cheerleaders for the PNMs and letting them make their own opinions? The PNMs said that a lot of girls dropped out of rush because of what the RCs said. How does that help the Greek system?
