Hi y’all so I’m not familiar with how UIUC does rush but I’m from the south and I know the south does it a lot different than the north. Can someone please explain if resumes are needed or like do we still give thank you letters and stuff or is that not a uiuc thing. I went to school at Auburn and I’m transferring to uiuc this next semester and I need some advice. I didn’t rush at Auburn but I want to rush at uiuc. Please help me out

Hey! So you'll either get to COB (which you can do in the Spring) which is only available at the houses that have room for extra girls. Keep up to date with the illinois phc insta for info on that. Some of them are public, some invite only. It depends. Otherwise, you'll need to wait till the Fall for Primary. Nowhere requires a rec letter but you can submit them if you want—it probably won't make a difference. What is considered is if you have a friend already in the house they can vouch for you and they might give you higher priority to be a new member. But rush here is much more chill than at southern schools, so yeah, no resumes or thank you letters necessary. I've never heard of anyone doing that

Oops I feel so stupid because I’ve spent so much time prepping for the spring😢🩷 like does my resume have to look a certain way for uiuc? It’s a template I made myself and ugh I just feel like a loser now

Champaign IL isn’t the “north”, it’s the midwest (central Illinois). The North are states that borders Canada… girl
