as the school gets more competitive to get in to (especially gies), uiuc is gonna have more smart kids, ppl that care less about joining greeklife, more focused on school.
The new lion/kams rules don’t help either, could def see uiuc becoming more like a northwestern when it comes to greek life, when 10 years ago urbana was a top party state school now it’s just grainger and international mfs

Nah bro trust. Ask any of the lake forest or winnetka kids. Even top schools like UVA, UNC, Vanderbilt, Umich are super Greek heavy and those schools house smart kids.

UIUC is dumb as rocks. The only thing propping it up is engineering. If you aren't in engineering you must be dumb as rocks

And architecture...and computer science (more govt supercomputer funding than ANY other school)....and business (Accounting consistently ranked in Top 3)

Greek life is falling off because it doesn't offer anything that you cannot find in other clubs. Add in the costs and the requirements to live in house and it's just not worth it.

You will not be lifelong friends with most of the kids you meet in your engineering frat.

It is so different I cant even explain it - it's like night and day.

And when you come back for HC in 10 years - whatre you gonna do - visit the classroom where your old club used to meet?
