being a legacy
by: Legacy...How much does it help you to be a legacy? Are there any houses that stand out as giving special consideration to legacies? Are there any houses that don't?

Two of the top tier houses are beholden to monetary contributions from alumni. Those particular alumni expect their legacies to be bid into the house. This causes pledge class quality to decrease over time. But it does keep the $$$ rolling in for house renovations etc....

Being a legacy is not necessarily a positive experience. I know of at least two girls who only got into queen houses because they are legacies. Both have weight issues. It was suggested they wear letters sparingly and refrain from certain social functions. In my opinion, it's not worth the trade-off.

I personally know girls that joined houses they were legacies in and ended up dropping and joining different houses as sophomores. A lot of older girls will be mean to you, depending on the house. That being said, it might just get you more noticed at a house and help you get in where getting a bid might have been applicable anyway.

Those two houses would be Theta and DG, they are very loyal to their legacies.
Tri Delt is just the opposite, legacy means zip there.
