how do sororities tell if you’re wealthy
by: yikesi’m looking into rushing this fall and have always been told that during recruitment the girls pull up your zip code/images of your house to see if you have money or not. is this true? how can a sorority tell if you have money?

This isnt the SEC, no one cares how much money yall's daddy makes. As long as you can pay dues and other srat stuff you are good.
Greek system is mostly a meritocracy - if you are smart, good looking, athletic, well dressed, and/or can carry on a conversation you will be fine.
Illinois is not a destination school for the wealthy, its mostly middle class - sure some upper mid and some working class - but class is not really a thing here.
And what old money there is - you will almost never see it because it would be considered crass. Illinois is low key - The middle aged guy in the sweatshirt and jeans at homecoming might be the owner of a big company or a state judge.
