Is a 2.99 GPA as a sophomore transfer student too low to get into a good house in sorority rush?

Top-tier houses will definitely cut you, but some solid middle houses (and lower houses for sure) will look past that GPA if you show promise in other areas (extracurriculars, volunteer work, a reason for your low GPA such as family emergency or medical issues).
