I'm rushing next year and I was wondering how much recommendations for sororities help and far can they get you

If a close friend/cousin or whatever is in a sorority and they write you a recommendation, I heard it only gets you past open house

recs usually only get you past open house and that isn't even guaranteed.

As far as I know, every house has to have a rec on you to give you a bid. If you're outstanding enough and they want you badly enough, they'll call in an alum to write a rec. If they have two girls that are equal, one with and one without a rec, they'll take the one with the rec. I know that's true in my house at least.

every house's membership selection process is different. Not every house has to have a rec on you to give you a bid.
