What sororities will be doing spring/informal rush? Is is worth it to do informal or should I just wait to rush next year as a sophomore?

Spring rush is less time consuming and stressful- plus, there are no sorority chants involved- so I would definitely recommend it over rushing as a sophomore. In informal rush, you really get to meet the sisters of the chapter you're interested in and talk to them MUCH more than in formal recruitment. I mean, in fall rush, basically all you discuss is your name, age, major, and what you did over the summer. So far, I've heard that Sigma Kappa, AOPi, ADPi, PiPhi, DZ, and AEPhi are doing informal rush. But you can also email other chapters to ask if they are doing it as well because many are but just aren't as open about it!

I have friends in PiPhi and ADPi, and told them I was interested in rushing in the spring. they told me as of now they have no room to do informal rush.... not sure who you got the information from.

Not sure where 'nope' got her info. ADPi is doing informal bc I am friends with the recruitment chair. IDK about PiPhi, but they did do it last year

My best friend is an ADPi and I know that they are not doing informal rush. I wonder what the Adpi recruitment chair would think of you coming on here throwing her name around considering ADPI's are told to stay far away from this site and from what I know they do. I also know a couple of pi phis quite well and are told they are not doing it either. I don't think your info is right about one of the others houses either. Unless you know what you are talking about don't splash it all over greek rank like you have an inside scoop.

I am in ADPi and we do not know as of now whether we will be doing informal rush, but chances are that we will.

No one ever comes on here and talks about what house they are in unless they are lying and trying to make that house look bad.

pi phi, agd, and adpi all had pretty decent sized pledge classes this year so it's unlikely that any of them will do spring rush. definitely rush as a sophomore though if you are still interested!

I heard that they all had good numbers too and that they will not be doing spring rush. I have no idea why someone would come on here and make claims like that for other houses.

why do most people not seem to realize that a lot of houses take informal bids during the spring. Even the top houses have girls drop and will add two or three more during the spring... You mostly just have to know girls in the house to get this info. Everyone is so secretive though!!!

Probably will since they're still rebuilding their chapter.

To be honest, sororities don't really know until around very late december/january whether or not they will be doing continuous open recruitment (informal/spring rush). This is because some chapters might lose one or two girls late in the fall semester, and need to fill their quota in the spring. It is impossible to tell this early who will be and who won't be doing spring recruitment. You can make guesses based off of historical outcomes of fall recruitment, but things change every year.

I was not talking about the kD comment. That was mean and untrue.
