In the context of fraternities, classy would be defined as respecting others and understanding that the college experience shapes, defines and molds the rest of your life. I was in a top sorority and I can say that it has no real positive impact on career, romance, family or financial outcome. Had I understood greek life was about developing lifelong friends, preparing for a lucrative career and developing genuine networking opportunities, I would be better off today. Instead, I graduated with only a psychology degree, became an airline stewardess and eventually wound up in alcohol rehab. Ladies and gentlemen, please take my advice and be good to yourself and others. I'm not sure how I would up reading this board other than I seriousely crushed on a Sigma Nu but I feel compelled to let you know that the greek system has so much to offer if you don't get hung up on these petty little "top house" traps. Treat others with respect, be classy, and it will pay back ten-fold.

The graduate with a Science degree asks, "Why does it work?"
The graduate with an Engineering degree asks, "How does it work?"
The graduate with an Accounting degree asks, "How much will it cost?"
The graduate with a Liberal Arts degree asks, "Do you want fries with that?"

The two houses were major rivals for a long, long time.............along with Sigs & Betas...up until the 1990's......Sigma Nu then lost its charter twice in short order.....They were very fortunate to keep their beautiful house.....Since then, it's been a slow but steady recovery process.....Although they have great & wealthy alumni support along with a closely-knit brotherhood experience, they've made a decision to stay small < 75 members and live within the confines of only one house.......In this regard, Sigma Nu is the antithesis of ATO......not saying this is good or bad..........just a different philosophy? I do believe both houses could benefit from forming a "Pennsylvania Ave. alliance" by which a huge annual party would emerge.....
