Not that it matters, but I'm told the alumni of certain houses offer good networking opportunities upon graduation?
This begs the question which houses have the most influential alumni.
My dad was a Pike in the 1980's......And according to him, the following houses have always been associated with $$$....
Phi Delta Theta, Pi Kappa Alpha & Sigma Nu......not in any particular order.
Does this still hold true?

This drivel has already been posted before, it seems that a few Snus are constantly trying to paint themselves as some sort of genteel elite. They are not bad guys, most of them have better taste than to write this nonsense, but stop already with the "We've had money since the Revolutionary War, and a lot of it" nonsense.
It is UofI, most houses if not all have successful alums.
Not that I care about these houses, but you did not even mention DChi (an alum just named the business school with a $150 Million donation) and Beta (an alum who is literally a Billionaire lives in Urbana).
Just STFU and join a house where you get along with the guys.

bgb - You are basically correct, it's not a destination school for the wealthy. Any old money that does exist at UofI probably joins small houses, as they abhor ostentation.
But we are talking alums in this discussion, not the families that send their kids here.
In any case, you should just choose where you fit and you like the guys. That's all that matters in the long run.
