this is what i’ve learned about tu greeklife

I’ve learned a few things after rushing.
1. 93% of getting into a sorority is bc of who you know.
2. Then it’s all about what you look like.
3. Grades come next surprisingly.
(Although I would say grades and looks are pretty even)
4. Then its about your involvement at Tu.
If you wanna join one, know people, get/have a fake for uptown so you can meet people and can be seen by chapters that you party, have above a 3.0 and be involved in at least one other thing at Towson. This website is 100% accurate about each sorority chapter at TU. Do what you want w that info

from the perspective of a sister that has seen a few recruitments:
1) Grades come first - you won't be considered for ANY chapter if your grades do not meet the threshold set by the council / chapter and you have to keep your grades up in order to remain an active member of ANY chapter.
2) Connection - the number one thing that matters with rushing is the connection that is established with whatever sisters you talk to during the rounds (some chapters want girls that they already know because there is already that connection, but it ultimately comes down to the sisters that you talk to during the rounds). Sisterhood is bound by these friendships, so if that connection is not made with that sister or if they cannot think of a another sister that you would connect with, than that sisterhood might not be your home.
3) Involvement and Ambition - it helps to be involved at another TU club or volunteer group, but many people are joining a chapter in order to get involved on campus, so it wont be held against you if you haven't. Sisters are looking for if you are the kind of person to step up to be involved. Were you ever in a club, volunteered, on a sports team, or worked, anything that would demonstrate that you have a strong involvement in the past. most importantly do you have a strong ambition to be a leader in the chapter.

When I went through recruitment, I could easily name 20 girls in a particular chapter, and they dropped me after the first round. So it’s not always “who you know”. All about the connections you make
