It depends on what year you are and what sororities are doing it. This year a lot more sororities will be doing informal, but the “top tiers” usually don’t. So probably no phi mu or zeta. It just depends on what you like. At informal you’ll be a lot closer to your pledge class. It also doesn’t have the same rejection and anxiety that formal has.

So long as you’re not a freshman, do it! It’s a little harder though because not all sororities do informal or make it public knowledge and the pledge classes tend to be smaller than formal recruitment pledge classes. Worst case scenario: if nothing happens this semester do formal. It’s more anxiety inducing but you get to see every sorority and figure out what you want if you aren’t sure
