advice for pnms

by:

hi y'all! I know rush keeps getting closer and closer. I just wanted to share a bit of pretty solid advice i was told while rushing.
Go where you feel comfortable. Do not pay attention to the ranks, the stigmas, the status of chapters even though they may seem important. I have too many friends that are miserable in their chapters or have disaffiliated bc they didn't truly belong. If you're pretty (sorry to be shallow) you are going to totally be sought after by top tiers. Do not fall in love with them just bc they're pretty, and you're pretty so you feel as though thats where you best fit in. I'm not saying to give lower tiers a shot. Just don't try hard to feel like you fit in, fall in love with the girls and take it from there. Take it from someone who took her gut instinct over what she thought she should do to be part of a certain crowd at towson. Rush is tough stuff i would never choose to go through it again, but you also come out happy if you honestly follow what i am saying. Be yourself, be comfortable, say whatever is on your mind, most of the time the girls on the other side are just as nervous as you are. Do not belittle girls in chapters you feel you shouldn't give a shot. Have fun. Most of all GL.

true^^ also to add to that don't feel you are joining a crowd for their social life either. every organization of greeklife has a social life. Towson is a bar school after all. And go where you are passionate about a philanthropy also bc thats a huge part of your greek life career.

So I know they will go over this, but can someone tell me the name tag requirements? I would love to work on mine ahead of time while I have an art store near by and a glue gun and have more time to work on it. I’m very type A and want it to look perfect and reflect who I am without rushing it.

The name tag must have your first name and your recruitment number on it, other than that it can be literally whatever you want it to be. Unfortunately you only get your recruitment number at orientation when you get the shirt and everything else, so you can't really start on it just yet. You'll have like a solid half week to work on the nametag before actual recruitment begins tho so I wouldn't be too concerned
