how do they really decide
by: confusedok obviously no one is dumb and obvioulsy sorority recruitment is biased to some extent, but how biased is it really? Do the top ones have an idea of who they're going to call back before rounds even start? Does it matter if they follow you on insta and how much does it matter who you know? And do they really invite u back based off of only the opinion of the few girls u talked to the first day? IK some sorority sisters will answer and obviously lie but I really just want the truth bc we all know its a little biased.

It’s weird. From what I know from my sorority friends is that after you meet and talk the sisters will rank you and there’s a committee that decides. Every org (fraternities included) have an idea of who they want and what’s best for the org. Don’t think too much into it, best advice I’d be yourself, you don’t want to act not like yourself and get stuck somewhere

Who you know can be HUGE. After rounds the girls you talked to will rate you based on how good the convo was and then the sorority will discuss. If you got a low ranking but you’re good friends with someone in the org they can vouch for you. If you got a high ranking but someone has something really negative to say about you then you can get cut
That being said, I wouldn’t worry too much about this. You can get in somewhere where you know no one, and you will end up where you’re meant to!
