Grades, envolvement and personality. Don't let anyone tell you looks because you can be a solid 6 and still get in top tier.

Yeah sure they make cuts based off of grades, personality, involvement, conversation, etc but it really depends on who you talk to. Because a lot of times the sorority isn't cutting you.. It's who you talked to that cut you. Because not all 200 girls get a chance to talk to someone so you could actually be really great and the person who rushed you could have not clicked with you and then you got cut.

THIS!!! It's really upsetting but this is so true. If you don't get in it's not because you aren't wonderful and smart and pretty, it just means that either the sorority had a lot of people they knew who they wanted to give bids to, or someone had better grades or made a connection with the person they talked to more. It's SOOOO random!!! It literally is the luck of the draw with whether or not you get a bid. Be charming is my best advice. Be great at conversations. Make them like you by listening to their stories, telling jokes, attentive body language. Practice practice practice for conversation skills!!!!

At the same time though they take the information you provide in your application (and from social media stalking) to match you up with a girl in their chapter that they think you'll have a good connection with based on your interests. Sometimes the system doesn't work or there are girls they've already decided they want more than you, but they genuinely try to make sure that the conversations you have with the girls you talk to at their house are as good as possible.
