Please keep an open mind while going through recruitment. By all means, DO YOUR RESEARCH! However, this site does not fall under the research category. This is a hateful site full of bias, rumors, and false reputations. The thing about a sorority is that one clique can determine how the sorority is viewed as a whole. Reputations are easy to gain and hard to get rid of! It can take 10 years to slowly change how a sorority is viewed on campus.
When you actually go talk to each of these houses, stick with where your heart says you are comfortable. Don't join just for the letters. Don't join for what frat they hang with. Don't join for the most trophies or awards. Don't join just because your roommate is. Don't join just because of reviews on this site. Basically, don't join for the wrong reasons! Narrow-mindeness can be found all over this site. Do not fall under the spell of hate and bitterness. Keep it positive!
When you graduate college, no one is going to remember if you were top, middle or lower tier. Honestly, each sorority is unique and therefore impossible to put on a universal scale. Know yourself first, then decide what is best. :-)

Are girls in other sororities friends with each other? On here it seems like they all hate each other and it makes me not even want to rush. I thought if you were Greek that you were all in a group even if you are in a different house? idk. Like I said, it looks like all the houses hate each other...

Honestly, we don't all hate eachother. Some girls are very superficial and are in a constant competition to "be the best." Which is fine, I'm in a top tier sorority, but I don't believe in putting anyone down because of what sorority they are in. Do some sororities have certain reputations? Yes. Are they true? Maybe, maybe not. When you go into recruitment you may end up talking to multiple girls in one house or just one or two, and you can't get a feel for the whole chapter by just talking to a couple of girls so really do your research and decide what kind of chapter you want to be in. This website is not research, sure it tells you what tiers they are but you need to look at philanthropy, GPA, etc. Just keep an open mind.

This post is everything! I went into it thinking I wanted certain ones.. but I ended up rushing the one I was right for. You are exactly right about the tiers post graduation. Will it really make you feel better when people call your sorority "top tier" but you don't enjoy the girls in the sorority? You rush a sorority for the sisterhood and not the letters. If you feel like you're not being yourself during recruitment, please change it. I hate this site but i still find myself reading it. I pray one day TXST can have stronger greek unity.
