Get recs. They help.

Some girls in a chapter will know some girls from their HS or other groups so they could have talked them up. Don't concern yourself with something like this.

Focus on meeting women during recruitment and have meaningful conversations. Be friendly and interested to all chapters. They are inviting you into their home as their guest.
