The Gphi girls are really nice but if you want to join a sorority just because they are considered “top tier”, this is not that chapter. Nonetheless they have a really good sisterhood so if you are into that kind of thing (which I hope you would be lol), they are a great chapter to receive a bid from!

Minor point of correction. They were reopened fairly recently - but they are not really "new" at Texas State. They were established at Southwest Texas State in 1968 and were strong and popular sorority there through at least the 80s. So there is a lot of alumnae supporting this group - probably how they got such a nice house.

Sure?? I mean, you'll have to rush every house the first two days. JUst go in with an open mind and see how you feel. This is texas state. Greek life is okay but it's not huge or spectacular. Every sorority has good and bad things about it. You will make friends in any chapter unless your weird or mean. People talk like ranks matter here but they really do not matter that much. Everyone is nice to each other for the most part. GPhi has a beautiful house too.

I mean gphi has been getting better girls every year so I think given enough time they’ll be doing really well. The more quality girls that WANT to join, the better and more competitive gphi will be! With a beautiful house and big name there’s no reason they can’t be higher tiered.

They are well known nationally and are still fairly new here so they have the ability for improvement. I’d say go in with an open mind and get to know the girls because they really do have a great sisterhood!
