is it hard to get into txst because of greek syste
by: Curious
Is it true that its harder o get into Texas State than Tech, Arkansas, and OSU?
My friends applied to all of these schools and we all got into Tech, Arkansas, and OSU, but only one of the five of us got into TXST.
I really wanted to be a Bobcat too!
Someone said it was because their greek system is getting better. Any thoughts?

Greek system will have no bearing on whether you get in or not. I am at Arkansas and am transferring in the fall to Texas state. Arkansas was not all that great. I tried to make every day as good as row week 2012. And it doesn't live up to that. Texas state is where it's at.

I literally slept through HS and had around a 3.3/3.40 gpa which went down to a 2.9 by the end my my last semester in HS and I still got in. Coming from HS Texas state is not selective. If you're even top half you can easily get in. The same applies for tech. Greek life is totally separate from that. We do get ALOT of transfers especially from Arkansas. I know a lot of people who go there and don't like it because really whats there to do in Arkansas anyway?
Tech seems like a fun school and their greek system is pretty good. definitely better than texas state's

I've been at Texas Tech for 3 semesters and absolutley cannot wait to be a bobcat this fall. Honestly, Tech's "sisterhood" isn't all it's cracked up to be. Texas Tech has got to have the most clique-ish greek system by far out of all the universities in Texas. It may have a "good" reputation, but unless you have personally been a student at Tech and experienced the Greek life here firsthand, don't let it fool ya. It honestly saddens me and I know why majority of the students at Tech look down on Greek Life. I hate to generalize all Greeks here, but there are VERY few good apples. Like, Tech is the "stereotypical greek scene." I look forward to rushing at Texas State!
