I think everyone has a heavy heart from what happened. My prayers are with his family and friends but not every Greek organization should have to pay the price for a group that blatantly disregarded rules. Alcohol is a big factor in many deaths that have absolutely nothing to do with Greek life. People and organizations should be judged on their actions and dealt with according. There have been multiple alcohol related deaths were students get in their cars and driving after leaving bars or house parties that have resulted in deaths of entire families that had absolutely no Greek involvement. Yes Change is needed for those unable to police themselves but I understand why some of these Greek groups are upset about the letters and privileges because they take pride in the organization they belong to, so before labeling them as selfish understand that each individual or group should be judged on their own actions sadly the members of the organization this pledge was part of was not following the rules I hope that the blame goes on those responsible and not just Greek life in general because these groups have a lot of good guys that do a lot of good things.
