For all of the PNM's headed into fall, Welcome! Greek life at Texas State, while not as hardcore as at other universities is a terrific way to find new friends and to find a place you feel comfortable. I personally love Greek life here, and wouldn't change it for the world, that being said this is my opinion on the current ranks, KA, ATO, Delt and PIKE being excluded unfortunately, bye-bye bad boys
Sororities-
Zeta/DZ
ADPI
Alpha Xi
Chi O
Delta Gam
Gamma Phi
Alpha Gam
Zeta is widely considered top by the people who aren't involved in greek life, for those of us that are, not so much. Beautiful girls, sisterhood is not strong, if appearance is more important than quality than this is the group for you. They do like to have a good time and party, but tend to be the girls standing in the corner acting superior. College will be their glory days and they will be unhappy wives with douche bag husbands named Chip.
DZ - I would consider these girls almost equally attractive, but not as concerned with image, much stronger sisterhood, and widely considered to be much more fun and outgoing. Every sorority has issues, but for an upper tier this one is surprisingly a much more fun group. It is like Zeta, except mix in alot more fun and maybe just a little more hoochie.

ADPI - I don't think there is anything bad anyone can say about ADPI. Down to earth, fun, attractive, but also a great mix of normal as well. These girls make the grades, sisterhood seems to be tight (as tight as a large group of girls can be) all around one of our most down to earth sororities here, like to have a good time, and have a strong presence on campus. They like to have a good time as well.
Alpha Xi - Great mix of girls, very welcoming, presence is not as strong on campus but they are definitely on the come up with that. Great sisterhood, beautiful girls, Good GPA, Some of the sweetest girls I know are Alpha Xi. One of the darlings of campus for sure.
Chi O - Well, if you are smart, driven, grades are a top priority, not as concerned about having a good time, this is the sorority for you. Chi O is one of our most impressive group of girls as far as quality goes. I'm not sure that they make for a great night out, but they will certainly make you upwardly mobile in your chosen field and your GPA will soar. Great support system, sweet, pretty and smart girls need I say more? College is just a stepping stone for these girls, watch out world, they will rule it.
Delta Gam - Love this group of girls, highly underrated. Fun, close knit group, not as much presence on campus, but they are on the come up for sure. A few successful rushes and we will see them really rising in the ranks. Very good and close knit sisterhood, grades are important, but sisterhood is equally

Delta Gam cont: equally important. Good all around group, will make you feel very welcome
Gamma Phi - Well gamma gamma gamma what can I say about you. Sweet group of girls, underrated on campus, I would say sisterhood is a priority with them. Very good friendships within this group of sweet girls. They do need a few strong rushes, image could use a little bit of a brushup, but overall a sweet group.
Alpha Gam - Newer group with a strong name, we need to see how they work rush this semester. I am hearing great things about them, but have yet to see much from them so we will see. Great for incoming PNM to take a look at, as the talk is they will end up being a very strong presence here, it just takes a little time

Fraternities:
Kappa Sig
Phi Psi

Sigma Nu/Alpha Sig/Delta Sig
Now that we have many of our favorites gone, it makes this list a little bittersweet and difficult to rank. This one will be quicker, as my experience is not as in depth!
Kappa Sig - Great group of guys, handsome, outgoing, the parties they do throw are good parties, I wish they threw more parties. Our top house on campus for sure for now, but with all of the shaking up in our greek system this last year it does leave room for the others to make a strong come up. I would say Kappa sig is overall a great choice for any incoming PNM
Phi Psi - Ranking this one second doesn't really sit well with me, but I am working with what we have. Very large fraternity, seems a little obsessed trying to live up to a TFM lifestyle. IMO they did not seem that picky with their last 2 PC's and were more concerned with getting their numbers up. Fortunately though for them it did the trick, they are a huge fraternity, with some really great guys.
SAE - Great group of guys. I have not been to one SAE event that I did not really enjoy or feel extremely welcome at and not in a creepy way. This is their chance to really rise up and become a top tier, if they will really work hard this rush to get some quality guys in. Their fall rush for the past 2 years have been really strong, so we are beginning to see the change. Good quality group of guys, very sweet, very real, and very fun.

Sig Chi - Very good group of guys, their events are not as fun, and when you first come to their parties it is a little awk. Good looking boys, really tight run between them and SAE. Fall rush will be very important for both of these fraternities. Sig Chi has a good name nationally and a good name at our school. Fairly involved on campus. Just a great group of guys all around.
Fiji - Nationally they are huge. they will have a presence at Texas State for sure, but it will take them a few years to really get it off the ground and running. All in all for their first year this past year they did really well, which leads me to expect big things from them
Pi Kapp - sigh, am I really putting them in the rankings?

I don't think anyone other than zeta would consider them the TOP... DZ ADPi and ZETA are typically all equal. yea everyone has their own opinion but this is the general consensus. It's subjective but at least everyone can agree there's a break between the top three and the rest

I completely agree with you, but I do think that for the PNM coming in, they are the most sought after because of the perception. I also think that this sorority has the most unsatisfied girls with their overall sorority experience. I think for most of us within the greek system, you couldn't convince us to join up with them if given a second chance to go through rush again knowing what we know now. For the PNM's reading this, when going through rush choose wisely, as you only get to do it once. Look for a real connection with a group of girls that will last you not just someone to look pretty on social media with, or you will end up extremely unhappy.

I'll agree with you to a certain extent on that. But I think they are still widely sought after here on campus. I think they are neck in neck with ADPI. When I say image is not as important, I don't mean looks, I mean they are not as concerned with people's perception of them. All in all between the 3 ADPI is the most well rounded.
